A shocking family drama has unfolded in the public eye, with Brooklyn Beckham taking to social media to accuse his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of prioritizing their brand over their family and allegedly attempting to sabotage his marriage.
In a series of Instagram stories, Brooklyn, the eldest child of the iconic couple, revealed a deep rift within the Beckham family. He claimed that his parents have long controlled the narrative about their family in the press, using social media and public events as a facade to hide the truth.
"I've seen firsthand the lengths they'll go to spread lies in the media, often at the expense of others, to protect their image. But I believe the truth will always prevail," Brooklyn wrote.
This public feud has been brewing for months, with rumors circulating in the tabloids. Younger brother Cruz Beckham even hinted at the tension on his Instagram in December, stating that Brooklyn had blocked family members online.
Brooklyn's posts make it clear that he is done reconciling with his family. "I'm not being controlled; I'm finally standing up for myself," he declared.
The root of the conflict seems to stem from Brooklyn's wedding to American actor Nicola Peltz, daughter of activist investor Nelson Peltz. Brooklyn accused his mother of backing out of designing Nicola's wedding dress and even "hijacking" his first dance with his wife, performing an inappropriate dance in front of everyone.
"I felt so uncomfortable and humiliated," Brooklyn wrote about the incident.
He also claimed that his parents tried to pressure and bribe him into signing away the rights to his name before the wedding.
David and Victoria Beckham have not publicly responded to these allegations, and representatives did not immediately comment.
In a recent appearance on CNBC, David Beckham, attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, avoided directly addressing his son's statements. Instead, he spoke generally about allowing children to make mistakes on social media.
"You have to let them learn from their mistakes," he said.
The Beckham family, married since 1999, includes three other children: Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.
